Mar 27, 2015 Hi snow0815, thanks for posting, but your information is not correct. I routinely use Steam Cloud Saves to play the same game across Mac and PC. Divinity: Original Sin and The Talos Principle come to mind as a working examples. I encourage you to try this out yourself.

Mac Steam Mouse Not Moving In Game Multicore Rendering Free
Possibly a stupid question, but thought I'd throw it out there.
I have an early 2009 Nehalem Mac Pro, 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad core, 16Gb Ram.
Recently I've been doing a lot of 3D work in Maxon Cinema 4D - still images that need to be rendered at high resolution with highest quality anti-aliasing, global illumination, everything cranked right up to max quality settings.
Cinema 4D is one of those rare apps (that I've seen) that maxes-out all of the processors when it's rendering - the CPU gauges in menu meters are all at slammed at 100% and the fans rev up more than usual. The Mac becomes slightly unresponsive and noisy during this time, so I usually render overnight.
I was just wondering if it was possible to burn my Mac out or reduce the life of its processors by thrashing it so hard? I make sure it has plenty of air and the room isn't too hot, but it really seems like it's getting a proper heavy workout during rendering.
I've considered sending my files to a render farm, but maybe I'm being paranoid.
Thanks for any advice.
