You may want to give it a different number if you already have a save 2 in your folder. The game should then recognize the save file again.- If you have an old auto save file (Slot00000001.save) it's safe to delete as the game doesn't use it anymore. Hello,
The autosave file may be causing issues. Go to your save folder in Documents -Electronic Arts-Sims 4 folder and move the slot_00000001.save file. to your desktop. That is the autosave file and could be causing issues. Then launch the game. Go to the load button in the main screen in the game, and see if you can load one of your game files.
If the load button isn't there , start a new game. Play the game for a little while then save it. Exit the game. Then go back into the game, go to the load button, and see if your save games are there.

The 'load' button isn't there, started a new game but won't let me build anything or save the game (error 0).
Deleted all the cache files, started again a new game, built a tree but again after that it wouldn't let me save ( error 0).

Did all of the action mentioned in the link, the game is back to normal but every time I try to move an old save file the the new saves folder, the game just does not recognize it aka it wont show in the load button

Hello.
I am sorry that you are having this issue,
Try moving one of your save game files that just ends with .save to your desktop. ( not the the slot _00000001.save file)
Then remove the .ver0 from the end of the save game file that has the same slot number as the one that yiu just moved . It should now just end in .save Then start the game and see if appears.
Keep trying that with each of the slot numbers save games

I am glad that the issue has been fixed That is great!
If it happens again, try doing the same things that you did here to resolve the issue.
It is also good to keep backup copies of your save files on an external drive.
When saving the game, use ' save' or ' save as' then exit the game after saving, instead of using ' save and exit' because that can cause issues.

I am currently having this problem too! I have followed Rosemow's instructions and it still won't work! Maybe it's because every single time I rename the save file for that specific slot, it changes the name to (Ex) Slot_00000002 (2).save ? I just played on 8/18/17 and it stopped working on 8/19/17!! Please help!!

Remove the brackets and number from that slot, so that it is Slot_00000002.save

Hi! Thank you for responding so quickly!! My computer won't allow me to take the brackets out! :( I'll read the link you gave me and see if maybe that could help! Also my CC isn't showing up on my game!? I checked the options menu to see if it CC was turned off and it was on! I even put Script Mods on! That didn't help either! Then I made a copy of all my CC and deleted the original CC from my mods folder and then moved the copied folder into the mod folder and it's still not showing up!! :( Any idea why?

Try doing what doing what is in the link .
With your cc not appearing, make sure that you have extracted the package files out of the zipped folder or the rar file, if they come in zipped or rar formats. The package files need to be extracted out of the rar file and placed into the mods folder.
Try placing the package files directly into the mods folder without being in sub folders.
Check that the files are for sims 4, and not for sims 2 or 3.

Hi @rosemow , so I tried the CC thing; no luck on that. I made sure everything was out of the subfolders and nothing was in packaged files. I don't know what to do!! I'm still stuck on the whole game thing as well and not having my saves.... Then I just noticed I permanent deleted my old game and I only have my new one... kms

I am sorry that you deleted your old game I hope that your new game goes well with no issues.
Try moving your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then launch the game. A new mods folder will be generated. Exit the game. Place a couple of your cc items from the old mods folder into the new mods folder and see if they then appear.
